Board of Evangelism

Our goal is to reach out to friends, family, and neighbors with the message of God’s love and forgiveness through Christ.

We do so by outreach of publicizing Bible studies, new-member classes, V.B.S., soup suppers, movies nights, and worship services.  We maintain a Visitor's List and phone visitors each week.  The fifth Sunday of the month is Friendship Sunday where name tags are distributed, and we encourage bringing a friend or neighbor.  We maintain a New-Members List and sit in on new member classes.  Pictures of new members are taken to integrate them into the congregation.

The Evangelism Board meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the church,

Board of Church Properties

The members of the Properties Board handle the repair and maintenance issues that have come up at any of the church properties including the church, school, daycare, youth house and rental office.  They schedule regular workdays at the church and school in the spring and fall. They handle some of the repairs themselves or hire the work done as needed.

This Board is also involved with future building plans and remodeling of any of the properties.

The Board of Church Properties meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.  (The meeting place alternates each month between the church & the school.)

Board of Youth

The objective of the Youth Board is to involve the young people of our congregation in the work of Christ.  The Youth Board strives to provide for their spiritual growth, to nurture and to promote genuine Christian fellowship among them in our congregation.

The Board of Youth meets the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Board of Parish Fellowship

The Board of Parish Fellowship is responsible for planning activities at Trinity that will provide fellowship opportunities for members.  This Board promotes the coffee hour between services on Sunday mornings and provides coffee and donuts, as well as insuring that volunteers are available to serve and cleanup.  They host potlucks after services, plan the church picnic, prepare and serve the Confirmation dinner (with the aid of the Lay Ministers), organize groups to host the Lenten and Advent soup suppers, and initiate other activities - such as the monthly Cards, Games & Fellowship nights

This Board also supports and organizes our church camp (with the help of a camp subcommittee) and does a fundraiser each year to help raise money to reduce the cost of this camp.  Special receptions and dinners have also been part of this Board's service.   These activities are those currently supported by the Board of Parish Fellowship but the Board is always seeking new ideas and suggestions to increase avenues in which to promote fellowship.

The Board of Parish Fellowship meets the first Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Board of Stewardship

The basic objectives of this Board are to initiate programs for the development of good stewardship attitudes in the members of the congregation in regard to time, talents, and treasurers; to provide for the training and utilization of members of the congregation for the work of Christ’s kingdom; and to ensure the financial stability of the congregation and its work through a developed program of dedicated, proportionate, first-fruits giving.

The Board of Stewardship meets the first Monday of every other month (May, September, November, January and March) at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Board of Christian Education

This is one of the few boards where nominees are picked with certain specific tasks in mind.  The specialized nature of the educational task makes that a necessity.  Educational policy requires that people of mature judgment and experience be elected to this Board.  A good Board should really consist of a “mix of trained people, plus those who show exceptional interest and ability in the area of educational technique and/or philosophy.

The basic objectives of this Board are to plan and administer the total educational program of the congregation, to determine policies, to select personnel for the various agencies, to provide the necessary means and facilities for the agencies, and to direct and supervise the entire educational program of the church.  They are responsible for the Christian nurture of children, youth, and adults in the congregation and, through them, in the community and beyond.  This Board establishes objectives, sets policies for, and supervises the total education program for each education agency in the congregation, including the personnel, i.e., for the Christian Day School, Sunday School, weekday school, Vacation Bible School, confirmation classes, Bible classes, and all other educational groups.

The Board of Education meets the first Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Board of Lay Ministry

No group within a congregation is more deeply involved in person-to-person ministry than the Board of Lay Ministry (often called elders or deacons).  The nature of the duties of this Board requires that only men noted for their Christian knowledge, zeal and experience in the spiritual work of the Kingdom of Christ shall be elected to membership.

The basic objectives of this Board are the spiritual welfare of the church staff and congregation members, individually and corporately, and the supervision of everything pertaining to congregational worship.  Each Lay Minister has spiritual charge and oversight of a certain portion of our church families, assigned to them in cooperation with the Pastors and other concerned Boards of the congregation.

The Board of Lay Ministry meets on the last Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the church.
