The history of mankind has been that groups of men consolidate power and then use their power to oppress other people. The only exception to this behavior pattern is when a group of men - a 'culture' or 'civilization' - has been touched by the light of Christ. Only when Christ touches a culture do ideas of equality, defense of the week, and love for justice and mercy (Micah 6:8) show themselves. We reject the humanist notion that cultures are simply different ways to live and cannot be judged better or worse. We recognize the simple truth that only Jesus Christ can enable people to live together in peace, and only His power can change civilization one heart at a time. We reject the postmodern perspective that renders us unable to judge history or tell the truth about the wickedness of man apart from God.
